AI & Machine Learning Specialist

  • Data science
  • Liverpool / hybrid (UK)
  • Full time or contract
Apply by email

We are looking for an AI specialist to lead the models behind our prediction, text-analytics and decision-support services. You will take problems from seven industries, from demand forecasting in supply chains to pest identification in agriculture, and turn them into reliable, explainable models that run in production.

Full description

Key responsibilities

  • Design, train and evaluate forecasting, classification and NLP models on live client data.
  • Bring large language models and computer vision into our services where they genuinely help, with structured outputs and measurable quality.
  • Build the training-data pipelines, evaluation sets and monitoring that keep models honest after launch.
  • Work with domain specialists and clients to define what a good prediction is and how it will be used.
  • Document methods so that every result is reproducible and every number is traceable to its source.

Qualifications

  • Strong grounding in machine learning and statistics, with production experience of at least one of time-series forecasting, NLP or computer vision.
  • Fluent Python and the modern ML stack (PyTorch or similar, scikit-learn, pandas); experience serving models behind APIs.
  • Comfortable reading research papers and turning them into working systems.
  • Clear written and spoken English; able to explain a model to a non-technical client.
  • Bonus: experience in any of our industries, or with multilingual (English and Chinese) text.

What we offer

  • Salary depending on experience, discussed at interview.
  • Ownership of the AI roadmap in a small, senior team.
  • Real problems and real data across seven industries.
  • Hybrid working from Liverpool Science Park; flexible hours.

Software Engineer – Data Platforms

  • Engineering
  • Liverpool / hybrid (UK)
  • Full time
Apply by email

We build the systems that acquire, store and deliver data for our clients: live feeds that must not drop an event, APIs that other companies build on, and web and mobile platforms used in the field. We are looking for an engineer who enjoys owning a system end to end, from ingestion to the screen.

Full description

Key responsibilities

  • Design and build data pipelines, APIs and services for acquisition, storage and delivery of live and historical data.
  • Develop web and mobile platforms (TypeScript, modern frameworks) on top of those services.
  • Run what you build: containerised deployment, monitoring, reliability and cost on Linux and cloud infrastructure.
  • Integrate third-party sources, sensors and partner systems, including blockchain and smart-contract components where projects need them.
  • Review code, improve engineering practice and mentor as the team grows.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in at least one backend language (TypeScript/Node, Python, Java or Go) and in relational and document databases.
  • Experience building and operating APIs and data pipelines in production; familiarity with Docker, Linux and CI.
  • Good front-end fundamentals; experience with a modern web or mobile framework.
  • Care for correctness, testing and clear documentation.
  • Bonus: streaming systems, geospatial data, or mobile apps for low-connectivity environments.

What we offer

  • Salary depending on experience, discussed at interview.
  • End-to-end ownership rather than a narrow slice.
  • Modern stack, modest meetings, time to do things properly.
  • Hybrid working from Liverpool Science Park; flexible hours.

Data Analyst / Data Scientist

  • Liverpool / hybrid (UK)
  • Full time

Full description

Key responsibilities

  • Explore, clean and model client datasets; design analyses that answer the actual business question.
  • Build dashboards, indices and scheduled reports that clients rely on every day.
  • Run statistical tests and forecasting models, and explain their limits plainly.
  • Work with engineers to productionise analyses as data services.
  • Present findings to clients in writing and in person.

Qualifications

  • Strong SQL and Python (or R) for analysis; confident with statistics and experimental design.
  • Experience turning messy real-world data into clear, defensible findings.
  • Skill with visualisation and reporting tools; an eye for a chart that tells the truth.
  • Curiosity about how different industries work and what their data really means.
  • Bonus: a background in one of our sectors, or experience with text and sentiment analysis.

What we offer

  • Salary depending on experience, discussed at interview.
  • Variety: seven industries, many kinds of data.
  • Direct contact with clients and the decisions your work informs.
  • Hybrid working from Liverpool Science Park; flexible hours.
